Competition Rules
The order of performance in each heat will be decided on the night of the heat by drawing the names out of a hat. The draw will take place between 6.15pm and 6.30pm. To be included in the draw all members of your band must be present. If any of your band are missing the sound engineer will allocate you a spot. The engineers' decision is final.
If your band has particular needs (brass section, left handed drummer etc.) then the engineer may allocate your spot in the show. The sound engineers' decision is final.
No backdrops allowed.
All bands must use the in-house engineer. No member of any band or the public is allowed to stay in the soundbooth during a perforrnance.
Please note that the venue does not supply back-line or instruments. The PA and lighting system are supplied by the venue.
Please specify if your drummer is left or right handed on your entry form and to the engineer on the night of your performances.
Bands are to decide which drum kit is to be used by all the bands prior to the clay of the show. (You will be contacted by our organiser regarding this). Drummers not using their own kit must still bring their own sticks, cymbals and snare.
The qualifying heats will be open to the general public at a nominal entrance fee of £3.00, monthly finals £4.00.
Every heat of the competition will be judged by a combination of an audience ballot and judging panel, except the Grand Final. The Grand Final will be judged by a panel selected by the organisers.
The audience ballot votes will be counted at the end of each heat by the organisers in the presence of one member of each band that evening. The winner of each heat will be announced to the audience on the night of the heat.
Participating band members will be allowed ONE guest free admission into the event that he/she is participating in. This guest will be ineligible for voting.
Each band are allowed a total of only TWO roadies on site during soundcheck who will be ineligible for ballot voting.
Participating bands in the competition agree to allow organisers to use their band name and image in any publicity, press releases etc leading up to, during and after the competition.
The competition organisers' decision is in all matters absolute and final.
