Ian Parker & his band+ support Luke Dohety Band

A songwriter genuinely literate, sometimes almost literary, Ian is an original craftsman. Expressed through a distinctive bitter-sweet vocal delivery, Ian's songs hold nothing back. His ability and willingness to share with his audience, naked honesty and genuine emotion, is what sets him apart.

Ian’s career took off in the summer of 2003, when he signed to Ruf Records following a personal introduction to US record producer, David Z (Prince - Purple Rain). His debut album 'INSIDE' (Ruf1094) was released in October of that year and in March 2004, Ian appeared on Germany's top live music TV show, 'Rockpalast', establishing him as a mainstay on the European blues circuit.

In September 2005, Ian wrote and recorded five songs for a Ruf Records project album, 'PILGRIMAGE' (Ruf1112) which was recorded in Clarksdale Mississippi and Memphis Tennessee, and released in January 2006. The release of ‘PILGRIMAGE’, extended Ian's touring activities throughout Europe and importantly, into the USA.

By 2010, Ian had begun focussing his attention firmly on his song-writing, touring internationally as a solo acoustic performer – an artistic process which culminated in the release of his debut acoustic album, ‘The Bare Bones’ and an appearance at The Royal Albert Hall opening for Italian superstar, ‘Zucchero’ .

Now firmly back in his natural guise as a Strat-wielding bluesman, bringing with him his full 4-piece band which features his long-time collaborator Morg Morgan on keys, David Jenkins on bass and Chris Finn on drums. Ian and his band combine their latest material with many of the highlights from Ian’s career to date. A must see show for blues fans!!!

Further albums, live DVDs and extensive tours of Europe and the USA followed, with Parker always seeking new musical avenues to explore, never content to merely rehash old ideas, no matter how successful they may have been. To this end, Ian is something of journeyman, guided by his art and his self-confessed emotional need to express his soul through music.

His journey has taken unexpected turns, testing his loyal following from time to time, but the integrity of his writing, the quality of his distinctive voice and the soulful nature of his signature guitar playing have always been the bedrock of his work.

Following the release of Politik blues (Eye-Pea002) in April 2015, Ian refocussed his attention on the Stratocaster-driven blues music he began building his reputation on, more than twenty years ago.

Joined onstage by David Jenkins (bass), Chris Finn (drums) and his long-time collaborator Morg morgan (keys), Parker is entering a new and exciting phase of his remarkable career. Freed from the shackles of being the new kid on the block vying for attention in an over-saturated market, Parker approaches his music, these days, with the calm, self-assurance which accompanies one who has, to some extent, been there and done it. Nothing to prove and still so much to say, Ian Parker remains an act not to be missed.

LUKE DOHERTY BAND
The award winning Blues Rock Guitarist, Luke Doherty, started playing Festivals when he was twelve years old, and 10 years later, he hasn’t looked back. After achieving a Rock School first, 2 grade 8’s by the age of 11, it lead to many Newspaper and Radio interviews. While Luke was Ploughing his was through his grades, he was encouraged to record his version of Parisian Walkways of which Gary Moore had a copy. Luke has gone on to play numerous Festivals, Blues Clubs and Music Venues up and down the Country, including the Legendary Cambridge Rock Festival, 100 club London and Upton Blues Festival, to name a few.
Luke is never happier than when he is playing Blues. It all started when he was 7 years old and he found an old music VHS in a cupboard featuring several Blues players. He was enthralled with the playing of Eric Clapton and B.B King, both of which he was extremely honoured to meet a few years later. Over time he also met the great Peter Green, Jeff Healey and Andy Fairweather-Low, and John Mayell which enlightened his passion for Blues even more.
Luke has been truly blessed to share the stage with many fine Blues rock artists including, Ansley Lister, Danny Bryant, Virgil and the Accelerators, Connie Lush, Mike Estes of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Skinny Molly, As well as the Legendary Buddy Whittington, who told the crowd when Luke was on stage with him "Thi
