Formed in 1980, The Anti Nowhere League set out on the road to prove they could be the worst band on Gods earth - loud, violent, obnoxious yobbos with one mission... to get banned from every TV show, radio station and newspapers as possible just for a laugh. They were hated by the general public as well as 'real' musicians who thought they were a disgrace to the music business (and of course the fact they were pulling more people in their live shows than they were).
With numerous encounters with the authorities they have continued to play and release new material away from the public eye, in this day and age it does not seem quite as big a deal as it was back then when they stood alone, now a few of the 'real' bands have taken up the 'flag' to be original with attitude. Long may independent bands continue keeping the music live and real - long live The League
2011 saw the release of brand new single "This is war", and they toured as special guests to MOTORHEAD on the bands winter UK tour!
In 2012 the band were invited to play Download festival for the 1st time, this was followed with various other festival appearances and ended the year on a high with shows w/RANCID.
A punk band for the 21st century, playing electrifying Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Our influences are many and wide, ranging from Elvis to Iggy, The Pistols to Nirvana to name just a few.
We’re digging the current scene too, like Slaves, Wonk Unit, Cabbage, and Heavy Drapes.
The past is a lovely place to visit but we don't want to live there. Although, we do love a bit of Na Na Na Naaaaa Nostalgia...........
We have been around the block a couple of times and this ain't our first rodeo but we decided to play the music we wanted to hear.
Year Zero bring a touch of glamour and swagger to Punk Rock today.
With thought provoking lyrics, a touch of humour and plenty of swank, we’re ready to go.
So come on and surf the new, New Wave with Year Zero......
